Toss – Won by Brisbane Heat Women and elected to field first

1st Innings Summary – An unfortunate beginning for Adelaide Strikers as skipper Suzie Bates got run out in the 2nd over of their innings. 2nd wicket also fell early in 5th over. After that, opener Sophie Devine and Bridget Patterson not only played cautiously but also accelerated the run rate before the latter got out in the 12 over. But Devine kept making runs on the other end until third ball of 18th over when she was caught by Jemma Barsby. A quick innings by wicketkeeper batter Tegan McPharlin of 30 runs in 22 balls helped them post a competitive total. Jemma Barsby got best bowling figures among the bowlers (4-0-23-2)

2nd Innings Summary – Brisbane Heat Women also got off to a poor start as they lost their two wickets within the three overs of their innings. After that, an unbeaten 127-run partnership took place between opener Beth Mooney and captain Kirby Short. Although, Brisbane Heat did not loose any wicket in the rest of the innings but could not accelerate the run rate in line with the required run rate, which kept on increasing with each passing delivery. Both the batters could not convert their respective half century innings into match winning knocks, thanks to some brilliant bowling by Adelaide Strikers with Sarah Coyte bowling most economically (4-0-17-0) and Megan Schutt bowling brilliantly (4-0-23-1)
