Interview with Sornnarin Tippoch - Captain of Thailand Women's Cricket Team

1. HOW IS THAILAND PREPARING FOR THE QUALIFIERS?

We recently held a six-team tournament in Thailand (which we won). For us the most important thing is getting international match experience. It is huge for us to go to Qualifiers and we are looking forward to improving and challenging ourselves against good opposition.

2. HOW OFTEN DO THE THAI TEAM TRAIN?

We train Thursday to Sunday and have Mondays off.

The girls are so hard-working. Six of us play cricket full time and work for the Association of Thailand full-time. Win or lose I am proud of my team because I know every one of us will give our 100%. The Thai team are so passionate and we always play with our hearts.

3. HOW DID YOU START PLAYING CRICKET?

I used to play softball. So I already had good hand-eye coordination and could hit the ball far!

I like cricket more than softball because it really is a mental sport. I have been playing cricket for 10 years and I played in the first ever game for Thailand!
