The eighth match of the 2021 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Americas Qualifier will be played on October 23 (12.30am IST) between Brazil and the USA at Reforma Athletic Club, Naucalpan, Mexico. While Brazil have won two out of their three matches, the USA have been unbeaten so far in the tournament. This will be their second meeting in the competition, with the USA having won the first one comfortably.

Players to watch out for

Roberta Avery:

The captain of Brazil top scored with 17 runs as she led the run chase from the front. The right-hand top-order bat held the innings together and ensured that her team was in a comfortable position before she departed.

Nicole Monetiro:

This right arm speedster was the player of the match in her last outing against Canada. Opening the bowling for Brazil, she wrecked havoc as she struck with 4-6 in her four overs.

Shebani Bhaskar:

The right hand middle order bat top scored with 29 runs off42 balls, including one boundary. She played an instrumental role in helping her team reach 114. She came in to bat in the sixth over and was there till the 19th over.

Suhani Thadani:

The right arm seamer was the player of the match in the last game which the USA played against Argentina. She picked up 4-6 in her four overs, including one maiden over.


The weather does not look too bad throughout the course of the match. It is expected to be partly sunny with a chance of thunderstorms in some parts of the area in the evening (CST). There is a 40% chance of precipitation with 100% cloud cover in the evening (CST). The temperatures will drop from 23 degrees Celsius in the afternoon (CST) to 15 degrees Celsius in the evening (CST).


Brazil and the USA have won two out of their three matches batting second. Both the teams will be looking to win the toss and have a bowl first. The wicket is good as it aids both batters and bowlers, with seamers being more successful than the spinners.
