The Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 was a testament to the immense talent and potential of young Indian cricketers, as several emerging stars made their mark on the biggest stage. From match winning knocks to devastating spells, and from blistering innings to calm and composed performances under pressure, the WPL 2025 witnessed a plethora of youngsters scripting their own success stories.
As they rubbed shoulders with the best in the world, many of these young talents seized the opportunity to announce their arrival, leaving an indelible mark on the tournament.

Amanjot Kaur (Mumbai Indians) – 128 runs & 5 wickets
The 24-year-old all-rounder from Mumbai Indians emerged as one of the standout performers in WPL 2025, earning her the Emerging Player of the Season Award. She accumulated 128 runs and claimed 5 wickets in 10 matches with notable performances including her first wicket of the season against Gujarat Giants, dismissing Harleen Deol.
However, her best performance of the season came against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, where she won the Player of the Match award for her all-round heroics. Not only she claimed a 3-wicket haul taking crucial wickets of Richa Ghosh, Georgia Wareham and Ellyse Perry, but also remained unbeaten on 34 to complete the chase.
Kaur, also contributed in other matches, being the lone-wicket taker against Delhi Capitals dismissing Shafali Verma, a quick-fire 27 against Gujarat Giants, and powering Mumbai to a fighting total of 149 in the final with her late fireworks of 14 runs in 7 balls.
Kashvee Gautam (Gujarat Giants) – 11 wickets & 43 runs
The 21-year-old bowler made a remarkable debut for Gujarat Giants in the WPL 2025, claiming 11 wickets with a brilliant economy of 6.45 and contributing 43 runs in 5 innings across 9 matches. Her standout performance came against UP Warriorz, where she returned impressive figures of 3/11 in 3 overs, helping Gujarat defend 186 and secure a massive 81-run victory.
She also took crucial wickets against other teams, including Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur and New Zealand all-rounder Amelia Kerr against Mumbai Indians and Australian greats Meg Lanning and Annabel Sutherland against Delhi Capitals. She was economical against RCB, finishing with 1/17 in 4 overs, including the prized scalp of Richa Ghosh.
Even in the eliminator, where Mumbai Indians posted 213 and most Gujarat bowlers struggled with economy rates above 10, Kashvee stood out with an economy of 7.5, taking the wicket of West Indian all-rounder Hayley Matthews.
Niki Prasad (Delhi Capitals) – 78 runs
The U-19 World Cup winning captain, showcased her skills in the WPL 2025, making the most of her limited opportunities. In three innings across eight matches, she accumulated 78 runs and was also agile in the field taking five catches.
Her Player of the Match performance came in Delhi Capitals’ first match against Mumbai Indians, where she scored a resilient 35 off 33 balls, marked by four boundaries, nearly completing the chase for Delhi Capitals as she fell on the penultimate ball of the innings. Her knock ensured that Delhi clinched the close victory.
She also contributed 18 runs against UP Warriorz and remained unbeaten on 25 in the final, forging a crucial 89-run partnership with Marizanne Kapp, which almost sealed the title-win for Delhi. She hit one four and a six in the 19th over to bring Delhi closer to the victory, however failed to chase 14 runs off the last over. Despite falling short, Niki’s talent and potential were on full display on the biggest stage.
N Charani (Delhi Capitals) – 4 wickets
The 20-year-old bowler made a lasting impact in her debut WPL season for Delhi Capitals, despite playing only two matches. She picked up 4 wickets with an economy of 8.87.
In her first match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, she took two wickets in the same over, dismissing Raghvi Bisht and Richa Ghosh, who were threatening to put a huge total on board. Her 2/28 in 4 overs helped restrict RCB’s score, paving the way for DC’s 9-wicket win.
In the final, Charini picked up two more wickets, including the prized scalp of England all-rounder Nat Sciver-Brunt, who was well-set on 30. She also dismissed the 16-year-old Kamalini Gunalan in what was a thrilling battle of youngsters. Her impressive debut earned praise from England’s Danielle Wyatt, who appreciated her post DC’s match with RCB.
Kranti Goud (UP Warriorz) – 6 wickets
Kranti Goud, a promising young bowler, made a significant impact in the WPL 2025, claiming 6 wickets in 8 matches.
Her most impressive performance came against UP Warriorz, where she picked up a stunning 4-wicket haul, powering her team to a 33-run victory. This impressive spell saw her dismiss some of the biggest names in the tournament, including Meg Lanning, Shafali Verma, Jess Jonassen, and Jemimah Rodrigues.
Goud also took key wickets against other top teams, including Gujarat Giants’ skipper Ashleigh Gardner and West Indian all-rounder Hayley Matthews against Mumbai Indians.
