The 7th match of the WPL 2025, marked the beginning of the Bengaluru leg, at the iconic M. Chinnaswamy Stadium after the conclusion of the thrilling Vadodara Leg. The second leg got off to a cracking start, with a highly anticipated clash between defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru & inaugural champions, Mumbai Indians.

As Smriti Mandhana, the RCB skipper, walked up to the toss alongside Charles Dagnall, the Bengaluru crowd erupted in cheers and applause. The franchise is renowned for its fanbase, and the Chinnaswamy crowd showed exactly why. The stadium was filled with RCB chants, showcasing the franchise’s delighted supporters.

Smriti, visibly delighted by the warm welcome, expressed her gratitude, saying, “It’s good to be back… RCB fans are the best fans in the world… really good to be back and have this sort of a welcome.” She further emphasized the significance of having such passionate fans, stating, “It’s massive for the team to have fans around, and it only motivates us. I think whatever we do, we do for them.”

The energetic welcome for RCB is similar to what happened last year during their first WPL match against UP Warriorz in Bengaluru. The crowd’s excitement was palpable, and Smriti Mandhana acknowledged their loud support, saying that she expected nothing less from the passionate RCB fans.
