Last year’s champions RCB, have carried their rich vein of form into the current season, securing victories in both their matches so far. They began with a high-scoring chase against Gujarat Giants, winning by six wickets and followed it up with a comprehensive eight-wicket win against Delhi Capitals, with 22 balls to spare.
Mumbai Indians, on the other hand, bounced back from a heart-breaking two wicket loss to Delhi Capitals in their opener, where the result was decided on the last ball. They secured a convincing five-wicket win against Gujarat Giants in their second match, chasing down the target with 23 balls to spare.

In the head-to-head contest between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Mumbai Indians, the latter dominated RCB in the 2023 season, winning both their matches by nine and four wickets, respectively. However, RCB made a comeback in 2024. Although Mumbai won the first encounter by seven wickets, RCB bounced back with a seven-wicket victory in their second face-off of the season, courtesy to Ellyse Perry’s six wicket haul. They also edged Mumbai in the thrilling eliminator match in the 2024 WPL, winning by 5 runs, with Perry once again starring with 66 runs and figures of 1/29.
