Delhi Capitals will play Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women in the 4th match of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025, at Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara starting at 7:30 PM IST. Both teams have secured two points respectively, starting their campaigns on a positive note.

One of the WPL’s most reliable teams, Delhi Capitals finished top in the standings in 2023 and 2024 with 12 points each but fell short in the final. This season again, they’ve had a great start chasing a challenging target of 164 which eventually came down to 30 off 18 and 2 off the final ball after Arundhati Reddy’s dive secured the winning runs by a narrow margin. The chase was led by Niki Prasad’s composed 35 off 33, and the tension was increased by many close third-umpire run-out calls. The dramatic conclusion was set up by Radha Yadav, who smashed a six after escaping a tough umpiring call. Shafali Verma had given Capitals a solid start with a blazing 43 off 18.
After a rocky start to the WPL, Royal Challengers Bengaluru emerged as the champions last season and continuing their winning momentum, got their title defense campaign underway on a positive note. RCB needed 79 runs from the final six overs in the chase of 202 and Richa Ghosh and Kanika Ahuja pulled off an incredible recovery. Dropped on the first ball, Ghosh hammered a 64 off 27 balls, including an aggressive 23-run over against Ashleigh Gardner which helped swing the momentum in RCB’s favor. With the help of Kanika Ahuja’s 13-ball 30* and their unbeaten 93-run partnership off just 37 balls, RCB achieved the highest successful chase in WPL history.
Head-to-Head:
Throughout the 2023 and 2024 WPL seasons, Delhi Capitals have dominated their contests against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, winning four of five games. In 2023, they achieved two decisive victories, including a commanding 223/2 total in their first face-off. Delhi maintained their supremacy in 2024, winning two league-stage games while convincingly defending 194 and 181 runs.
However, when it mattered the most in the WPL 2024 final, RCB showed tenacity by defeating Delhi by eight wickets, turning the tide at the perfect time. Bengaluru’s championship victory demonstrated their resilience in a setting of Delhi’s superior record. Delhi will try to regain their supremacy as they get ready for the 2025 WPL, while RCB will want to maintain their winning streak as the defending champions.
