RCB, after having a horrible inaugural WPL season in 2023, went on to win their maiden title in 2024, defeating Delhi Capitals in the final. Their title triumph could be largely attributed to the Australian star, Ellyse Perry. Scoring 347 runs in 9 innings, she won the orange cap. However, Perry’s 2025 got off to a worrying start when she suffered a painful injury during the one-off Ashes test.

The injury forced her to miss the final two hours of England’s first innings and led Annabel Sutherland to take her place to bat at number 3. Due to the injury, her availability for the WPL season remained uncertain.

In an exclusive interaction with Female Cricket, she provided an update on her condition, stating, “In the coming days, I will have a really clear picture of exactly what it looks like. Yeah, but I don’t think there are any major concerns with my hip, and I will be fine.”

RCB’s social media handles have been flooded with comments inquiring about Perry’s whereabouts, with fans eagerly awaiting her return. As the team posts updates and pictures of other players joining the camp, fans have been relentlessly commenting asking about Perry’s expected arrival with a common question being, “Where is Perry?” and “When will Perry join?”

RCB on Monday, posted a picture on social media poking fun at numerous “Where is Perry” comments, creating a buzz among the fans. The post featured RCB’s S&C coach holding a board with the same question, captioned “Most common comment on our posts since last week.”

Fans responded with excitement, speculating about Ellyse Perry’s arrival. The comments ranged from ‘They’re saving the best for the last’ to ‘Waiting for the GOAT’s entry’. RCB fans even guessed that since the team has posted the teaser, it’s almost confirmed that Perry is arriving soon.

With key players like skipper Smriti Mandhana, Asha Sobhana, Renuka Singh, Georgia Wareham, Heather Knight and Kim Garth already joining the RCB Camp, all eyes are now on Ellyse Perry, the fan favourite and a crucial player for the team. With four days left before their first match, both the team and its fans will be hoping for her speedy recovery and arrival.
