The 2025 Women’s Premier League Auction in Bengaluru was a thrilling affair, with nineteen players securing deals. Amidst the spotlight on overseas players, the auction also opened new doors for uncapped players with franchises investing in young talent. In this article, we review the list of uncapped players who secured deals at the recently concluded 2025 WPL auction.
1) Simran Shaikh
The Gujarat Giants broke their bank for the young Mumba batter after securing her for a staggering amount of 1.9 Crore, also becoming the most expensive player at the 2025 WPL auction. Shaikh previously represented UP Warriorz during the first season and now joins the Giants having put an excellent run in the 2024 Senior Women’s T20 Trophy, scoring 179 runs in nine innings.
2) G Kamalini
The Tamil Nadu wicket-keeper batter was the second buy at the 2025 WPL auction and was bought by the Mumbai Indians for an incredible amount of 1.6 Crore. The left-handed batter has shown remarkable consistency having scored 311 runs in the U19 Women’s T20 Trophy followed by 270 runs in four innings in a Triangular series.
3) Nandini Kashyap
The dream period continues for the wicket-keeper batter from Uttarakhand who had recently received her maiden national call-up, which is now followed by her maiden stint in the WPL as Delhi Capitals secured her services at a base price of 10 lakhs. Nandini was the leading run scorer in the inaugural edition of Women’s Uttarakhand Premier League and scored 247 runs in the 2024 Senior Women’s T20 Trophy.
4) Prema Rawat
The 23-year-old was Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCBs) first pick at the 2025 WPL auction as well as the most expensive player for the Bengaluru franchise, at 1.2 Crore. Prema is known for her expletive-hitting batting in the middle order and provides much needed reliability for the defending champions.
5) Nallapuredy Charani
The Andhra Pradesh spinner was the second buy at the auction for Delhi Capitals as she was roped in by the Delhi Capitals at 55 Lakhs as the Capitals outbid Mumbai Indians. Most recently, she scalped five wickets in the 2024 Senior Women’s T20 Trophy.
6) Arushi Goel
UP Warriorz opened their account at the 2025 WPL auction securing Arushi Goel at a base price of 10 Lakhs. Hailing from Kerala, the pace bowling all-rounder is currently part of India U19 Women’s squad for the inaugural edition of the U19 Women’s Asia Cup.
7) Sanskriti Gupta
Mumbai Indians added the spin bowling all-rounder to their ranks at a base price of 10 Lakhs. Notably, she also had claimed five wickets in the 2024 Senior Women’s T20 Trophy for Madhya Pradesh and adds fire power lower down the batting order.
8) Nikki Prasad
The 19-year-old was roped in by the Delhi Capitals at a base price of 10 Lakhs. Hailing from Karnataka, Nikki Prasad is currently the skipper of India’s U19 squad in the U19 Women’s Asia Cup and has had an outstanding run in the Under-19 competitions.
9) Prakashika Naik
Prakashika Naik adds a variety to the Giants’ bowling set coming into the squad as a leg-spinner. The uncapped Indian spinner was secured by Giants at a base price of 10 lacs. She has been part of the India A squad, specifically featured against England A in late 2023 and is quickly establishing herself among the top domestic leg-spinners.
10) Akshita Maheshwari
The uncapped all-rounder was sold to Mumbai Indians at a base price of 20 Lakhs. Akshita Maheshwari is known for her all-around abilities and further strengthens the Mumbai Indians ahead of WPL 2025.
11) Raghvi Bist
Her remarkable performances at the domestic level as well as for India A paid off as she was picked by Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the base price of 10 lacs. Last week, the Uttarakhand batter had also received her maiden national call-up. She was the standout performer in the three One-Dayers against Australia A as the leading run scorer, with 205 runs, notching up three consecutive fifties, in the series with the highest score of 82. Later on, in the 2024 Senior Women’s T20 Trophy, she scored 158 runs in seven innings.
12) Jagravi Pawar
The 25-year was the final buy at the WPL auction after being picked by the defending champions at a base price of 10 Lakhs. The Mumbai pacer was the second leading wicket-taker, scalping 16 wickets in 11 wickets, in the 2024 Senior Women’s T20 Trophy, further bolstering the pace bowling department for RCB.
13) Kranti Goud
The Madhya Pradesh pacer was the final buy for the UP Warriorz, winning the bid at her base price of 10 Lakhs. Goud adds bowling depth to the UP Warriorz’s squad for the third edition.
14) Jositha V J
RCB boosted their all-round department following the addition of uncapped all-rounder Jositha at a base price of 10 Lakhs. The 18-year-old is currently part of India’s U-19 squad for the U19 Women’s Asia cup and also had a notable stint in the recently concluded Triangular series, featuring India A U19, India B U19, and South Africa U19.
