In 2020, Charlotte Edwards began her coaching journey by leading the Southern Vipers to win the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy. Her coaching prowess shone once more in 2021, guiding the Birmingham Phoenix to the runners-up spot in The Hundred and the Southern Vipers to third place in the Charlotte Edwards Cup and victory in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy.

Continuing her success in 2022, Edwards secured the Charlotte Edwards Cup with the Southern Vipers and led the Manchester Originals to The Hundred finals. She also coached the Sydney Sixers in the Women’s Big Bash League that season, her first, where they finished as runners-up.

In 2023, her achievements soared as she led the Mumbai Indians to victory in the inaugural edition of the Women’s Premier League. She then went on to guide the Southern Vipers in the Charlotte Edwards Cup and the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy to glory. Her coaching led the Southern Brave to triumph in The Hundred, further cementing her status as one of cricket’s most successful coaches.

Initially joining the Women’s Big Bash League as a player with the Perth Scorchers, Edwards transitioned into a coaching role with the Adelaide Strikers following her retirement. Later she became the coach of Sydney Sixers. Despite guiding Sydney Sixers to a runner-up spot in the 2022 WBBL season, Sydney Sixers couldn’t manage to qualify for the next season.
