Bio:
Aparna Mondal, the wicket-keeper batter hailing from Bengal, has played for a number of domestic sides including Tamil Nadu. She currently plays for the Railways side and was a part of their title-winning campaign during the 2023 Senior Women’s One Day Trophy.
Having been around in the domestic circuit for approximately 8 years and having shared the dressing room with the likes of Renuka Thakur, Sneh Rana, Poonam Yadav, and Ekta Bisht, she has enough experience on the domestic level. Aparna’s services were acquired by the Delhi Capitals in the inaugural WPL auction.
Taniyaa Bhatia was the first-choice keeper for the Delhi-based franchise last season and will be this season too, chances will be hard to come by for Aparna. Despite being snubbed from the playing XI, Aparna didn’t let it affect her morale and has shown great dedication and hard work to better her game. This is a testament to her passion for the game.
She has all the right role models as she idolises some of the greats of the game like Alyssa Healy and Adam Gilchrist.
