Yastika Bhatia, a regular in the India Women’s set up made her international debut in the shortest form of the game against Australia in October of 2021, the same year she also made her ODI and Test debut against South Africa and Australia respectively.
Yastika had a great tournament in the previous edition of the WPL. She was one of the most consistent openers of the tournament and got her team off to a good start in most matches. She paired well at the top with Hayley Matthews and scored 214 runs at a brisk strike rate of 112.04.
Apart from her batting, Yastika was a safe pair of hands behind the wicket and kept well against the pacers as well as the spinners on turning subcontinent pitches.
Mumbai Indians will rely on her to get them off to flying starts this season too. With her best score of 44 coming last season, Bhatia will be looking to get her maiden WPL fifty this season and better her run-tally from the previous season.
