Fatima Sana’s Pakistan were up against Naruemol Chaiwai’s Thailand in the 2nd warm-up game in the Qualifiers.

The Thailand batting line-up collapsed like a pack of nine pins after skipper Naruemol Chaiwai won the toss and opted to bat first at the Lahore City Cricket Association Ground. The 18-run 10th wicket stand between Phannita Maya (26* off 49 balls), and Onnicha Kamchomphu was the highest partnership of the innings with the bat for Thailand. None of the Thailand batters entered into the double-digits with the bat.

Nashra Sandhu (5.2-0-11-4) was the stand-out performer with the ball for Pakistan, while Rameen Shamim (5-1-6-2), and Sadia Iqbal (7-3-10-1) were exceptional with the ball. Diana Baig (4-0-18-2) also chipped in with a couple of wickets with the ball for the home side.

Chasing a small total of 79, it was a walk in the park for the home side as they comfortably got the required. The Pakistan openers Gull Feroza (28 off 32 balls) and Shawaal Zulfiqar (16 off 33 balls) got their side off to a solid start with a 51-run opening partnership for the 1st wicket, with Zulfiqar walking back retired out.

Pakistan eventually got over the line with seven wickets in hand in 18.5 overs. Sidra Amin (14* off 13 balls), and Aliya Riaz (14* off 33 balls) guided their side over the line. Suleeporn Laomi (3-0-8-1), was the only wicket-taker with the ball for Thailand. Thipatcha Putthong (3-1-3-0) was also impressive with the ball for her side in her spell.
