The ICC has rolled out an exceptional commentary panel for the much-anticipated Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, bringing together an elite mix of cricketing greats and top-tier broadcasters to elevate the tournament experience.

Among the renowned names are World Cup champions Mel Jones, Lisa Sthalekar, Stacy Ann King, and Lydia Greenway, who will be joined by celebrated former players Anjum Chopra, Katey Martin, and ex-India women’s head coach WV Raman.

In a major highlight, cricket legends and former captains Mithali Raj and Sana Mir, who have left an indelible mark on the game, will also lend their insights, adding star power to the commentary box.

Fans can also expect to hear the familiar voices of global cricket broadcasting icons such as Natalie Germanos, Ian Bishop, Kass Naidoo, Nasser Hussain, Alison Mitchell, Carlos Brathwaite, and Mpumelelo Mbangwa, ensuring world-class coverage throughout the tournament.

Lydia Greenway, a key player in England’s winning team from the inaugural T20 World Cup, shared her excitement, “The skills on display are going to be breathtaking, and I think we’ll witness some truly unforgettable moments that will push the boundaries of what’s possible in women’s cricket. I can’t wait to call the action from the commentary box and be a part of this amazing tournament.”

Legendary West Indian commentator Ian Bishop, a long-standing advocate for women’s cricket, added, “Women’s cricket has been very close to my heart for quite some time. It is exciting to behold how much the game has evolved – the women cricketers continue to exhibit ever-increasing ingenuity, athleticism, power, and finesse.”

The pre-match build-up will be led by dynamic presenters Kass Naidoo and Laura McGoldrick, adding flair and depth to each day’s coverage.

Viewers can expect nothing less than cutting-edge coverage from ICC TV, which will provide live broadcasts of every match. Enhancing the fan experience, there will be a 30-minute pre-game show, an innings break analysis, and a comprehensive post-match wrap-up. Each game will be captured with a minimum of 28 cameras, and the high-tech spidercam will make appearances in selected games to take fan engagement to the next level.

Prize money for the tournament is set at an all-time high, with the champions set to take home a whopping $2.34 million, while the runners-up will secure $1.17 million from a total prize pool of nearly $8 million.

The Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 promises to be a thrilling spectacle, kicking off on October 3 with a high-stakes clash between Bangladesh and Scotland at the iconic Sharjah Cricket Stadium in the UAE. The competition will reach its climax with the final on October 20.
