The Tigress would start their ICC campaign from 24th February, playing their opener against India. Before the world cup, they are taking part in 13 days long practice matches to warm-up well before the big ICC event. Tigresses are placed in group A alongside Australia, New Zealand, India, and Sri Lanka.

Considering the strength of the opposition Tigresses skipper Slama Khatun said they have to be at their best in each match. “We all are expecting to play good cricket there and win one or two matches.

Australia, New Zealand are certainly tough and better opponents than us but we don’t know each other well as we haven’t played cricket with them. We tried to prepare ourselves well. We’ve to assess to the condition and execute our plans well on the field,” Slama told reporters at the SBNCS.

“We have a good bowling unit. Besides this, we tried to improve our batting and fielding. So, I’m expecting something good from both departments,” she added.
