Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hassan said that the board can’t manage to provide the same quality of facilities to women’s team that they were able to provide to the men’s Cricket team. This has come forward just before a couple of days the women’s team are set to take off to Australia for the ICC event.
The women’s side was at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium for the photo session. Nazmul said there were expectations this time around as Bangladesh are the Asian champions.
“There are good expectations. While I won’t say that the performances have been really good, but it’s not bad either. Share on X We’re Asian champions. We can’t deny that the same facilities were not afforded to the women’s side that was availed for men’s cricket,” Nazmul said.
During the last world cup, Bangladesh Tigresses were unable to open their account. In this world cup, Bangladesh is placed alongside a strong group of nations like Australia, India, New Zealand, and Sri Lanka. The president added that recent performances in India, where they clinched the Women’s T20 Quadrangular series will prove as a confidence booster.
“What I believe is that our women cricketers will bring more success in the future,” he concluded.
Captain Salma Khatun was reserved about the team’s chances and said: “We’re hoping for good cricket and to win one or two matches at the World Cup.”
