Cricket fans around the world were unhappy with the way things panned out in the Semi-Finals of T20 Women’s World Cup match between India and England. It was abandoned due to rain. The wet weather forced the match to be canceled. Although Team India was given the advantage of being table-toppers, cricket and the fans had to suffer.
The most disheartening fact was that the ICC did not make provisions of a reserve (back up) day for the Semi-finals matches despite having rainy forecast in Sydney 7 days in advance. The consequences of not having Reserve Day for such an important match turned out to change the entire story of the tournament fixtures.
Team India is the dominant winners having four consecutive wins against Australia, New Zealand, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka created history by entering the finals of the tournament for the first time.
But things didn’t go in England’s favor and they were pushed out of the tournament.
Cricket fans weren’t happy with the results and lashed out at ICC for not having a reserve day for the Semi-Finals. Here’s how the Twitter fraternity reacted to this whole scene.
Gutted 😔

It will be an absolute shame if the semi finals of a #T20WorldCup between top teams is decided by the rain with no balls bowled and no reserve day spared.
Cruel for the dreamers!!! Though India goes through, I would feel bad for the English ladies team if it happens. #INDvENG— Arvind Ramachander (@arvindia4u) March 5, 2020
Gutted for the England girls. Felt like they were putting something together & deserved the opportunity to try and make it through. So India in the final @MCG Sunday! Who will be facing them SA or Aus? We’ll be back on air @FoxCricket at 6.25pm local time for build up. #worldcup

First semi called off. @BCCIWomen make their 1st @T20WorldCup final. Feel for @englandcricket team!! Not the way you want to end your campaign and get into the final.

I was surprised when Adelaide didn’t get a single game of #T20WorldCup after excellent hosting in 2015 and I’m even more surprised now
