India’s Radha Yadav wants father to stop selling vegetables

In the Women’s T20 World Cup, Team India has been stealing the show with their dominant winning performance. They became the first team in Group A to qualify for a semi-final spot after winning all 4 matches. The semi-final matches will be played on March 5, Thursday.

The Women in blue have been the global talk with stars like Shafali Verma, Poonam Yadav, and Smriti Mandhana. The last match they played against Sri Lanka was, however, the magic bowling spell of Radha Yadhav that helped their team to win. Her 4 for 23 was a score that baffled the crowd and contributed in restricting Sri Lanka to 113. India effortlessly chased the target in 14.4 overs.

Radha Yadav won the player of the match against Sri Lanka. Off the field, Radha Yadav who is popular worldwide hails from a very humble background. The talented girl was trained in Baroda for 5 years, while her father sold vegetables in the Kandivali suburb of Mumbai. According to reports, after Radha’s impressive performance at the World Cup, her father’s home was filled with guests who came to congratulate proud parents. Radha’s Baroda coach was also among the crowd, beaming with pride.

Radha’s father, Omprakash Yadav revealed that Radha had been insisting him to shift the base to Baroda and live a retired life. But her father does not want to give up on this profession which gives him a sense of purpose in life.

Radha Yadav has taken 5 wickets in 2 matches she has played in the World Cup and has taken 48 wickets in 34 matches in her overall T20I career.
