Players to watch out:

Jess Watkin

The 26-year-old all-rounder in the Super Smash last summer amassed 142 runs from 11 T20s and also secured 11 wickets, with respective bests of 29* and 2/5. In this Smash season, Jess has registered three notable scores of 34, 51*, and 41 in her previous few outings, alongside bowling figures of 0/39, 2/22, and 1/14. The seasoned campaigner will be relied upon for all-round efforts.

Nensi Patel

The 22-year-old pacer in the last Smash edition secured 5 wickets from 11 outings, at an economy rate of 6.00, and accumulated 118 runs from 9 innings batting lower down the order. Though Nensi finished wicketless in the first couple of games, she has struck a wicket in each of her previous 3 outings, while also scoring 17 and 38* in her previous couple with the bat. She can be counted on for the goods.

Flora Devonshire

The 21-year-old all-rounder had a quiet 2023-24 season, managing only 21 runs from 5 innings, while picking up only 2 wickets from 8 outings. Flora was among the runs in this One Day competition, but hasn’t carried the momentum into the T20s, managing the highest score of 13 so far, and picking up 4 wickets from 7 games. It is hoped she steps up her efforts with both bat and ball, delivering a crucial win.

Claudia Green

The 26-year-old pacer in the previous Smash edition, from 10 outings, struck as many wickets at an economy rate of 6.18. Claudia took a wicket in each of her first couple of outings this season and, following two wicketless outings, has produced consecutive bowling returns of 2/12, 2/19, and 2/20. It is expected that she continues in this form, leading the wickets tally for her side.

Pitch:

The 22 yards at Seddon Park make up a well-balanced center wicket that offers a fair contest between bat and ball, evident from the average score in the 130s. While batters find delight in the wicket, bowlers, particularly pacers, find assistance from the wicket.

Weather:

It will be a pleasant day in Hamilton for some cricket, with a low chance of rain and sunny skies. The temperature is forecast to be around 23°C, with moderate winds and humidity at 48%.
