After Brisbane Heat Women won the toss and elected to bowl, Sydney Sixers Women were sent in to bat. Openers Elsa Hunter and Claire Moore set a solid tone for the innings, combining for a well-calculated 45-run opening stand off 46 deliveries. Moore stroked 27 off 24 balls, featuring 4 boundaries, before Charli Knott made the first breakthrough by stumping her off Georgia Redmayne’s clean work in the 8th over (45/1, 7.4 ov). Joining forces with Hunter, Lauren Kua helped build further momentum through a fine 52-run partnership off 44 balls for the second wicket.

Hunter anchored the top order expertly, making 43 off 43 balls (3 fours) before falling to Sianna Ginger, caught by Annie O’Neill in the 15th over (97/2, 14.6 ov). Kua continued her steady knock, scoring 35 off 35 balls (4 fours), until Lily Bassingthwaighte had her caught behind by Redmayne near the closing stages (117/3, 18.2 ov). Caoimhe Bray and skipper Erin Burns provided a rapid finish to the innings with a punchy, unbroken 19-run stand off just 10 balls. Bray finished unbeaten on 11 off 10 balls (1 six), while Burns powered 11* off 8 balls (1 four). This spirited effort pushed Sydney Sixers Women to a competitive 136/3 in their 20 overs.

Brisbane Heat’s bowling attack worked tirelessly to keep the scoring rate in check throughout the 20 overs. Lily Bassingthwaighte led the disciplined effort with figures of 1/20 in her 4 overs. Sianna Ginger was equally miserly, taking 1/21 in her 4 overs, while Charli Knott contributed 1/34 from her 4-over spell. Supporting roles were played by Bonnie Berry (0/17 in 3 overs), Grace Harris (0/20 in 2 overs), Clodagh Ryall (0/7 in 1 over), and Filippa Suesee (0/15 in 2 overs), as the Heat kept the Sixers within reach.

Chasing 137 for victory, Brisbane Heat Women got off to a quick start with Grace Harris blasting 21 off 15 balls (5 fours) in an opening partnership of 24 runs off 19 balls. However, Frankie Nicklin struck in the 4th over to remove Harris, caught by Courtney Sippel (24/1, 3.1 ov). Lucinda Bourke struggled to get off the mark and was bowled by Sippel for a 9-ball duck shortly after (32/2, 4.4 ov). Charli Knott looked threatening with a fluent 24 off 18 balls (4 fours) and added 24 runs for the third wicket alongside skipper Georgia Redmayne.

The game swung decisively in the Sixers’ favor when Sarah Coyte dismissed Knott, caught by substitute Maddy Darke in the 9th over (56/3, 8.5 ov). Juliette Morton then removed Redmayne for 11 off 18 balls (1 four) (65/4, 10.4 ov). The Heat middle order crumbled under continuous pressure from the Sixers’ bowling unit. Stella Campbell dismissed Sianna Ginger for 5 off 13 balls (1 four), caught by Erin Burns (77/5, 13.4 ov). Nicklin returned to clean up Mikayla Wrigley for 2 off 5 balls (83/6, 15.1 ov).

Sippel then struck in quick succession, removing Lily Bassingthwaighte for 1 off 6 balls, caught by Hunter (86/7, 16.2 ov), and bowling Annie O’Neill for a fightback effort of 13 off 15 balls (1 four) (87/8, 16.4 ov). A sharp run-out by Coyte ended Bonnie Berry’s stay for 0 off 2 balls (89/9, 17.2 ov), and Coyte sealed the match by having Clodagh Ryall caught by substitute Darke for 0 (90/10, 17.6 ov). Filippa Suesee remained stranded on 3* off 5 balls as Brisbane Heat Women were bowled out for 90 in 18 overs.
