Maia Bouchier’s Unbeaten 74 Leads Hampshire Women to Dominant Win Over Lancashire

Hampshire Women continued their good form in the Women’s T20 Blast 2026 with a convincing eight-wicket victory over Lancashire Women at Stanley Park, Blackpool. Chasing a target of 131, Hampshire reached 133/2 in just 15.5 overs, thanks to an excellent batting display from Maia Bouchier and captain Georgia Adams.

The win moved Hampshire up to fifth place in the points table with 18 points from six matches. Lancashire, meanwhile, remained seventh after another tough outing.

After winning the toss, Hampshire chose to bowl first and made an immediate impact. Naomi Dattani struck in the opening over, dismissing Eve Jones for a duck and giving her side the perfect start.

Lancashire needed their experienced players to step up, and Meg Lanning answered the call. The former Australian captain looked comfortable at the crease and played a calm, responsible innings. She scored 64 runs from 51 balls, hitting six fours and a six while holding the innings together.

At the other end, captain Eleanor Threlkeld provided valuable support. She made 45 from 39 deliveries and shared an important partnership with Lanning. The pair helped Lancashire recover after the early setback and kept the scoreboard ticking through the middle overs.

However, Lancashire struggled to get big contributions from the rest of their batting line-up. Tilly Kesteven scored 5, Grace Johnson managed 2, while Danielle Collins and Fi Morris were both dismissed without scoring. Kate Cross added a useful unbeaten 11 from seven balls late in the innings, helping Lancashire push their total slightly higher.

Despite the efforts of Lanning and Threlkeld, Hampshire’s bowlers did well to keep things under control. Lancashire finished on 130/7 from their 20 overs, a score that looked competitive but not out of reach.

Naomi Dattani was Hampshire’s best bowler, finishing with figures of 2/19 from her four overs. Poppy Tulloch also picked up two wickets, while Bex Tyson, Georgia Adams and Amanda-Jade Wellington claimed one wicket each.

Chasing 131, Hampshire suffered an early blow when Ella McCaughan was dismissed for a duck by Grace Potts in the second over. For a brief moment, Lancashire had something to cheer about, but that was as good as it got for them.

Maia Bouchier then took charge of the chase. Fresh from her match-winning innings against Essex Women, she continued her rich form with another outstanding knock. Bouchier remained unbeaten on 74 from 53 balls, striking nine boundaries and one six. She looked in complete control and never allowed the required run rate to become a problem.

Georgia Adams played a perfect supporting role. The Hampshire skipper scored 48 runs from 40 deliveries and found the boundary five times. She rotated the strike well and made sure Hampshire stayed ahead throughout the chase.

The pair added 114 runs for the second wicket, effectively taking the game away from Lancashire. Their partnership was built on smart batting, good running between the wickets and timely boundaries whenever needed.

Adams was run out for 48 with victory almost secured, while Nancy Harman remained unbeaten at the other end as Hampshire crossed the target with more than four overs left.

For Lancashire, Grace Potts was the only wicket-taker and finished with figures of 1/19. While she bowled well, Hampshire’s batters were simply too strong on the day.
