The Dragons and Scorchers will lock horns in the 3rd game of the ongoing Super 50-Cup, an elite regional Women’s One-Day Tournament. The game is set to commence at 3:15 PM Indian Standard Time (IST), on the 16th of July, 2023, and will be played at The Lawn, Waringstown.

Players to watch out:
Bella Armstrong
The 23-year-old all-rounder from New Zealand delivered a remarkable batting performance in the season opener, scoring an unbeaten 163 off 134 balls. Bella’s incredible innings came while chasing Typhoons’ target of 289, leading her team Dragons to a convincing 6-wicket victory with 11 balls to spare.
Arlene Kelly
The 29-year-old bowler in 11 One-Day Internationals (ODIs) has been handy chipping in with 118 runs and bagging 8 scalps. During Ireland’s recent tour of the West Indies, Arlene had a quiet series with only one wicket to her name and will be eager to return to domestic cricket and regain her form.
Gaby Lewis
The 22-year-old all-rounder in 33 ODI outings has scored 942 runs at an average of 31.40, with the best score of 95*. Gaby had a brilliant campaign on her tour of the Caribbean, recording scores of 83, 10, and 95* in three outings, and the Scorchers will bank on her to deliver the goods.
Sophie MacMahon
The 26-year-old all-rounder in 12 ODI appearances has scored 105 runs and scalped 7 wickets. Sophie had a successful domestic season but couldn’t replicate the same form on the international stage and will want to rediscover her form and contribute with both bat and ball in the upcoming matches.
Pitch:
The 22 yards at The Lawn, Waringstown, provide a somewhat neutral playing field as the conditions are advantageous to both batters and bowlers. Pacers particularly benefit from the conditions, and a score in the 200s can be deemed as a competitive one on this wicket.
Weather:
The temperature is forecasted at around 16°C, with a humidity level of 75% and moderate winds. Expect delayed starts and interruptions as shower spells are forecasted during match hours and could turn out to be an annoying day if the skies don’t clear.
Fantasy playing XI:
Amy Hunter, Polly Inglis, Gaby Lewis, Mary-Anne Musonda, Bella Armstrong, Sophie MacMahon, Leah Paul, Arlene Kelly, Orla Prendergast, Niamh MacNulty, Aimee Maguire
