The Denmark skipper Line Ostergaard won the toss and opted to field first. The game was eventually reduced to 18-overs-per side due to rain. Sweden lost the wicket of their wicket-keeper batter Elsa Thelander in the 3rd over of the innings. Divya Golecha provided the first breakthrough for Denmark.

Eman Asim joined Anya Vaidya at the crease, and the duo stitched a much-needed 58-run stand for the 2nd wicket. Nita Dalgaard broke the stand by sending Anya Vaidya (35 off 36 balls) back to the pavilion in the 10th over of the innings to provide the crucial 2nd breakthrough for her side. Skipper Kanchan Rana (56* off 28 balls) joined Eman Asim (39* off 33 balls) at the crease, and the pair capitalised on the momentum and stitched a massive 78-run stand for the 3rd wicket, which also took them closer to the 150-run mark.

Thea Larsen broke the stand by sending Eman Asim back to the pavilion in the final over of the innings. Sweden eventually posted 145/4 in their quota of 18 overs. The innings had 9 extras. Thea Larsen (4-1-27-2), Divya Golechha (3-1-15-1) and Nita Dalgaard (3-0-21-1) were the top performers with the ball for Denmark.

Chasing a massive target of 146, the Denmark batters succumbed to the scoreboard pressure. As a result, they struggled to put together a substantial partnership, courtesy of a brilliant display of consistency in line and length from the Swedish bowlers. The Line Ostergaard-led side were restricted to 74/9 in their quota of 18 overs, falling 71 runs short of the target. The innings had as many as 16 extras.

Thea Larsen (11 off 15 balls) and Frida Larsen (10 off 17 balls) were the only other batters to enter the double-digits with the bat for Denmark.

Hariharan Shreya (4-0-21-2), Malyun Yusuf (4-0-10-1) and Hareer Chamto (4-0-12-1) were exceptional with the ball for Sweden. Jayasooriya (3-0-14-0) and Anya Vaidya (1-0-8-1) played their part with the ball for their side. Skipper Kanchan Rana was awarded the Player of the Match for her sensational match-defining half-century (56* off 28 balls), with her knock including 9 boundaries, playing a crucial role in setting up a commanding victory as Sweden make it 2 in 2 in the ongoing Nordic Women’s T20 Cup 2026.
