List of 11 Iconic Players for Women’s Maharashtra Premier League 2024

A four-team Women’s Maharashtra Premier League to feature 11 iconic players. The Inaugural edition of the Women’s Maharashtra Premier League is expected to commence on 24th June 2024. It will be having its inaugural player auctions on 11th May 2024.

A total of four teams namely, Suhana Sahyadri (Pune), Wine Enterprises Pvt. Ltd. (Nashik), Kapil Sons Group (Raigad), and Royal Genius Sports Pvt. Ltd. (Solapur), will be participating in the tournament. A total of 11 iconic players, namely, Smriti Mandhana, Devika Vaidya, Anuja Patil, Kiran Navgire, Tejal Hasabnis, Shraddha Pokharkar, Khushi Mulla, Aarti Kedar, Ishwari Awasare, Ishwari Savkar, and Utkarsha Pawar will be participating in the tournament.

Smriti Mandhana:

The veteran Indian opening batter and the current vice-captain of the senior Indian Women’s team was recently involved in the Senior Women’s Inter Zonal Multi-Day Trophy when she led West Zone to the semi-final against South Zone where they ended up on the losing side courtesy of a first innings lead. She also led the Royal Challengers Bangalore to their maiden trophy in franchise cricket in the Women’s Premier League in March earlier this year.

Devika Vaidya:

The 26-year-old all-rounder was recently involved in the Senior Women’s Inter-Zonal Multi-Day Trophy. She recently represented, West Zone. She scored (41 off 57 balls) with the bat and returned with match figures (11-1-39-1) and (11-1-36-1) with the ball. She also represented the UP Warriorz led by skipper Alyssa Healy in the inaugural edition of the Women’s Premier League.

Anuja Patil:

The 31-year-old bowling all-rounder recently represented West Zone in the Senior Women’s Inter Zonal Multi-Day Trophy 2024. She scored 128 runs in a couple of innings and picked up 7 wickets in four innings for her side.

Kiran Navgire:

The 29-year-old batter was last involved in the 2nd edition of the Women’s Premier League when she represented the UP Warriorz led by skipper Alyssa Healy. She scored 110 runs in eight innings at an impressive strike rate of 146.66.

Tejal Hasabnis:

The 26-year-old batter represents Maharashtra at the domestic level. She was last involved in the Senior Women’s One Day Trophy in 2021. She scored 123 runs in six innings for her side.

Shraddha Pokharkar:

The 27-year-old pacer was recently involved in the Senior Women’s Inter-Zonal Multi-Day Trophy when she represented West Zone. She picked up five wickets in four innings for her side. She also represented the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2nd edition of the Women’s Premier League.

Khushi Mulla:

The right-arm pacer from Chinchwad has scored 58 runs and picked up a couple of wickets in five matches.

Aarti Kedar:

She last played for Maharashtra in the Senior Women’s One Day Trophy on 3rd November 2021.

Ishwari Awasare:

She has recently represented Maharashtra in the Women’s Under-19 One Day Trophy 2023-24. She was the leading run scorer of the tournament with 481 runs to her name in eight matches at a humongous average of 80.17. Her tally of runs includes a couple of half-centuries and a couple of centuries. Her best performance with the bat was when she scored 152 runs for her side.

Ishwari Savkar:

She is a 20-year-old leg-spinner.

Utkarsha Pawar:

The 25-year-old pace-bowling allrounder last represented Maharashtra in the Senior Women’s One Day Trophy on 15th November 2021.
