Top 5 Highest ODI Team Scores in Women’s Cricket

The following are the top 5 highest team scores in Women’s ODI history:

1. New Zealand Women vs Ireland Women (491/4)

The highest score in Men’s ODI cricket was 481/6 made by England vs Australia. On June 8th, this record was broken by the New Zealand women’s team when they scored the highest ODI total of 491/4 against Ireland at Dublin.  New Zealand won the toss and opted to bat first, where opener and skipper Suzie Bates scored a colossal 151 runs from 94 balls. Maddy Green added to the damage with a blistering 122 runs from 77 balls.

The White Ferns went onto score an impressive total of 491/4, It’s only third time that a 400-plus score has been made in women’s ODIs. They went on to bowl out Ireland for 144 and won the match by 346 runs.

2. New Zealand Women vs Pakistan Women (455/5)

Second, on the list is once again New Zealand Women’s Team, but this time against Pakistan where they managed to score a mammoth total of 455/5 in the Pakistan tour of New Zealand in 1997. Pakistan won the toss and elected to field first, Opener Debbie Hockley made an important contribution with her 88 runs from 68 balls. Middle-order of Maia Lewis, Trudy Anderson, and Clare Nicholson all went on to score 105, 85, and 73 respectively. Clare Nicholson also contributed in the bowling, picking up 4 wickets and bowling out Pakistan for a mere total of 47.

3. New Zealand Women vs Ireland Women (440/3)

Thirdly, featuring on the list again is New Zealand on the same tour as the 491/4 game. Scored another humungous total of 440/3 against Ireland. This was the 3rd ODI between New Zealand and Ireland, New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat similarly to the first ODI. Opener Amelia Kerr went on to score the highest runs scored in women’s ODI with whooping 232 runs in 145 balls. Leigh Kasperek also score a ton to push New Zealand to a total of 440 Amelia Kerr also went on to pick up 5 wickets in arguably the greatest individual performance in Women’s ODI history.

4. New Zealand Women vs Ireland Women (418/10)

Fourth on the list, again is New Zealand Women’s Team against Ireland in the same series of 2018. New Zealand won this series convincingly with a 3-0 scoreline and 3 matches with 400+ runs. New Zealand like every match in the series won the toss and elected to bat. Opener Sophie Devine scored a blistering century in 59 balls to set the pace for the White Ferns. Maia Green, Amy Satterthwaite, and Bernadine Bezuidenhout all contributed with their batting efforts.

5. Australia Women vs Denmark Women(412/3)

Lastly is the World Cup match between Australia and Denmark where Australia goes on to score the highest total in Women’s World Cup history with a total of 412/3. Australia was first to bat and skipper Belinda Clark played the best World Cup Innings in the history of women’s cricket with her 229 runs in 155 balls with the support of Lisa Keightley, Australia won this match by 363 runs after bowling out Denmark for just 49 runs, they also go on to win the World Cup that year.
