The dynamic performance from Sophie Devine helped Adelaide Strikers to strike their first win of the season by defeating Renegades by 6 wickets at Adelaide on Saturday.
Winning the toss Strikers opted to bowl on a pitch which assisted more to the bowlers.
Openers Molineux and Wyatt failed to give a good start all credits to Schutt who displayed a superb spell of fast bowling which helped her pick up the wickets of both the openers for 10 and 1 respectively.
Following them, England star better Beaumont and Koski too failed. Here, this time it was Stafanie Taylor playing for Strikers for the first time was on fire picking both the wickets.
Later the skipper Duffin took the responsibility of building the inning, she tried her best and was able to score a quick 44. She was well supported by Dooley and Webb. Coming back to action Taylor picked up one more wicket that is of Webb. As the wickets kept falling the Run Rate got decreased and they ended up their innings at 117 for 7.
Chasing the target even Strikers did not have a good start as the skipper Bates and Allrounder McGrath were dismissed by Tahuhu in quick succession.
Then the fearless cricketer Sophie Devine played a dangerous inning of 72 runs including 6 fours and 4 sixes. She got up to her 50 in just 29 balls. Devine mainly targeted spinners and smashed them all over the Park. She was well supported by Taylor and Katie mack with cameos which helped Strikers win by 6 wickets.
With this win, Strikers look confident for further part of the tournament and Renegades will be giving their best to win the next match.
