Raw emotions pour out in the Sri Lankan dressing room after their historic, maiden ACC Women’s T20 Asia Cup title triumph
The Sri Lankan women’s team led by skipper Chamari Athapaththu clinched their maiden ACC Women’s T20 Asia Cup title by defeating India by eight wickets and eight balls to spare.
She led her side by example, she scored 304 runs at an impressive strike rate of 146.85, and an exceptional average of 101.33 in five innings. Her tally of runs included a couple of half-centuries and a century. Both her half-centuries came in the knockout stages of the tournament. She was also awarded the Player of the Tournament for her brilliant performances throughout the tournament.

The was a sea of raw emotions that poured out as soon as Kavisha Dilhari smashed a glorious six to give a fairytale end to their 12-year-long wait for an Asia Cup title in the T20I format. The Lankan Lionesses are crowned as the Asian T20 Champions.
