The first semi-final of the ninth edition of the Women’s Asia Cup was played between India and Bangladesh. Seven-time champions India handed Bangladesh a heavy 10-wicket defeat to advance to their ninth consecutive Women’s Asia Cup final.

The Indian pacer was fired up with the ball in the semi-final against Bangladesh. Renuka grabbed three wickets, with her first coming in the very first over itself, dismissing Dilara Akhter, who played a lofted shot over fine leg but straight into the hands of Uma Chetry. This was followed by the wicket of Ishma Tanjim in her second over and Bangladesh’s opener, Murshida Khatun, was her third victim after being dismissed for 4. For her exceptional bowling display, she received the Player of the Match award.

Nigar was Bangladesh’s top scorer during the semi-final clash against India. The right-handed batter scored a gritty 32, which included two boundaries. The Bangladesh skipper finished the tournament as their top scorer with an impressive 142 runs from 3 innings.

3) Smriti Mandhana 55* (India):
The left-handed batter scored an unbeaten 55. It was her first fifty in this edition of the Women’s Asia Cup. Smriti Mandhana smashed nine boundaries and one six in her innings of unbeaten 55. Chasing a total of 81, Smriti’s innings helped India secure a comprehensive victory and advance to India’s ninth consecutive final. It is also her highest score in the Women’s T20 Asia Cup to date.
