Bio:
Lauren Filer is a right-arm pacer who made her Test international debut on 22 June 2023 against Australia during the Australia women’s tour of England in Nottingham. After a span of two months, she made her ODI debut on 9 September 2023 against Sri Lanka during the Sri Lanka Women’s tour of England in Chester-le-Street. Later on, after one year, she made her first international T20 appearance on 19 March 2024 against New Zealand in Dunedin.
Lauren made her domestic debut for Somerset in 2018 against Nottinghamshire, performing quite well in the early days of her domestic career. She took five wickets in five matches for Somerset at an average of 8.80. In 2020, Filer joined Western Storm in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy. She also has experience playing in the Charlotte Edwards Cup. She was the leading wicket-taker for her team with 11 wickets and hit her maiden half-century, scoring an unbeaten 58 runs against Central Sparks. Then she played for Welsh Fire in The Hundred.
Lauren has not gotten many chances to showcase her bowling skills at the international level, as she recently made her debut. However, Lauren will eventually get more opportunities to perform and make her place in the England Women’s team.
