Bio:

Shabika Gajnabi, a right-arm medium bowler from Guyana. Her journey in international cricket began in August 2019 when she received a call-up to the national squad for the series against Australia. This marked a significant moment, not just for Shabika, but for Guyanese cricket as well.

Just weeks later, on September 5th, 2019, Shabika’s dedication translated into her WODI debut against the Australians at Coolidge. This was not it as nine days later, on September 14th, 2019, she put on the maroon West Indies jersey once more for her WT20I debut against the same opponents in Bridgetown.

In June 2021, she was appointed as the vice-captain of the West Indies A team for their series against Pakistan. Her cricketing journey continued in October 2021 when she was named as one of the reserve players for the West Indies team in the Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier tournament in Zimbabwe.

Though still young in her international career, her achievements serve as an inspiration for aspiring young cricketers in Guyana and the Caribbean.
