Bio:

Diana Baig is a unique talent in Pakistani sports, excelling in both cricket and football. Hailing from Hunza, Gilgit-Baltistan, Diana’s passion for sports began with street cricket and football matches. Her dedication and talent were recognized early on, leading her to Lahore for higher education.

Diana’s cricketing journey started in 2010, where she captained the Gilgit-Baltistan women’s cricket team. Her skills were quickly identified, earning her a call-up to the Pakistan A team in 2012. A year later, she found herself included in the national squad for the 2013 Women’s Cricket World Cup, though she did not play a match. This was followed by another selection for the 2016 ICC Women’s World Twenty20.

Finally, in 2015, Diana’s dream came true. She put on the green jersey for her international cricket debut against Bangladesh. Her cricketing journey continued with selections for major tournaments like the 2018 ICC Women’s World Twenty20, the 2020 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, and the 2022 Women’s Cricket World Cup. One of her most remarkable achievements came on February 9th, 2019, during a Women’s ODI against the West Indies; here, Diana claimed her first four-wicket haul, taking an impressive 4/34, showcasing her exceptional bowling skills.
