Bio:

Aliya Riaz, a skilled all-rounder from Pakistan, wielding the willow as a right-handed batter and confusing opponents with her right-arm off-break bowling, she brings a versatile skill set to the table. Her cricketing journey began with domestic periods for teams like Rawalpindi, Lahore, and State Bank of Pakistan, where she sharpened her craft.

Aliya’s international debut arrived in 2014, marking a significant moment in her career. She put on the green jersey for the first time in an ODI match against Australia at Brisbane. A week later, she showcased her batting ability in her WT20I debut against the same opponents at the Gold Coast.

While initially, international appearances were limited, Aliya’s talent never went unnoticed. In 2018, she received a call-up for the ICC Women’s World Twenty20 tournament. This was not just any participation as Aliya emerged as the leading wicket-taker for Pakistan, claiming six crucial dismissals in four matches. This performance solidified her place as a valuable member of the bowling attack.

Aliya’s cricketing journey continued with selections for the 2020 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup and the 2022 Women’s Cricket World Cup. Her dedication was further acknowledged in December 2020 when she was shortlisted for the Women’s Cricketer of the Year award by the PCB.
