Born and raised in Punjab, Kanika Ahuja is a batting all-rounder. Kanika’s cricketing journey began in her home state, where she showcased her abilities in various age-group tournaments. Her standout performances came in domestic cricket, specifically in the Women’s Senior Trophy in the 2021 edition, where she registered her highest score of 90 runs and picked two crucial wickets against Rajasthan.
In the first edition of the WPL, Kanika scored a total of 98 runs in seven matches, including a match-winning innings against UP Warriorz to guide them to victory. Her match-winning contributions in both departments, bat and ball, saw her being picked in the inaugural season of the WPL for the Bangalore franchise. She was also handy with the ball, picking three wickets.
She received her maiden call-up for the national side in the Asian Games, debuting against Malaysia. Kanika is undoubtedly a cricketer to watch out for in the coming years with a bright future ahead.
