Sweden Women won the 2026/27 ECA Women’s European Cup after defeating Austria Women by 64 runs in the final at Moara Vlasiei Cricket Ground, Ilfov County, on October 18, 2026. Austria won the toss and chose to field, giving Sweden the first chance to put runs on the board. Sweden finished their 20 overs at 124/9, setting Austria a target of 125. However, Austria struggled to keep the chase going and were bowled out for 60 in 15 overs. The result gave Sweden a convincing title-winning victory, while Hariharan Shreya received the Player of the Match award for her bowling performance.

Sweden lost Anya Vaidya early after she scored 10 from 11 balls, including two fours, before Ashi Chopla bowled her. Adan Gul then helped steady the innings with a valuable 35 off 28 deliveries, hitting four boundaries. Eman Asim contributed 15 from 16 balls, including a four and a six, but Sweden soon lost more wickets. Asim was caught off Mallika Pathirannehelage, captain Kanchan Rana was dismissed lbw for a duck, and Zara Mohammad was caught without scoring. Sasi Rekha also departed for one, leaving Sweden needing a stronger contribution from the lower order.
After Gul’s dismissal at 77, Sweden continued to look for runs without losing their remaining wickets too quickly. Hareer Chamto scored 11 from 19 balls before being dismissed lbw by Priya Sabu. Malyun Yusuf added 10 from 16 deliveries, while Fatima Zahra scored 12 off 12 balls, including two fours, before being stumped off Sheetal Bhardwaj. Anoushka Vaidya remained unbeaten on six, and Shreya finished not out on one. Sweden reached 124/9 in 20 overs, with 23 extras helping the total. These included one leg-bye, one no-ball and 21 wides.
Austria’s bowlers had taken wickets at regular intervals and prevented Sweden from building a much bigger score. Pathirannehelage finished with 3/24 from four overs, while Komati Reddy took 3/13 in four overs at an economy rate of 3.25. Chopla claimed one wicket for 30 runs, Sabu took 1/17, and Bhardwaj returned 1/15. Andrea-Mae Zepeda did not take a wicket and conceded 24 runs in four overs. Austria needed a steady start and useful partnerships to chase 125, but their innings soon came under pressure.
Isha Joshi was caught and bowled by Anoushka Vaidya for a duck after facing one ball. Bhardwaj was then bowled by Vaidya without scoring, while Zepeda made nine from 10 deliveries, including one four. Captain Priya Sabu became Austria’s leading scorer with 22 from 30 balls, hitting two boundaries. However, wickets continued to fall around her, making the chase increasingly difficult. Reddy scored nine from 15 deliveries, while Pathirannehelage managed one from 11 balls. Austria could not build the partnerships required to challenge Sweden’s total.
Sweden’s bowlers kept control through the remaining overs. Anoushka Vaidya finished with 2/12 from two overs, while Fatima Zahra took 2/5 in three overs. Shreya delivered an economical spell of 2/2 in two overs, including a maiden. Chamto took one wicket for 12 runs, and Sasi Rekha finished with 1/18. Austria scored 60 before losing their final wicket in the 15th over. Their total included 17 extras: two byes, one leg-bye and 14 wides, but they fell well short of the target.
Sweden’s victory came from Gul’s leading contribution with the bat and a disciplined bowling effort, particularly from Shreya. Austria’s bowlers had made Sweden work for their runs, but their own batting could not produce the partnerships needed for a successful chase. The 64-run win secured Sweden Women the 2026/27 ECA Women’s European Cup title and completed their campaign with a victory in the final.
