Sobhana Mostary marked a significant milestone in Bangladesh women’s cricket when the experienced 24-year-old top-order batter made her 100th International Appearance during Bangladesh’s campaign opener against tournament debutants Indonesia in the fourth game of the ACC Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2026. The landmark came on 31st August at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai, where Bangladesh, led by skipper Nigar Sultana Joty, secured a commanding 71-run victory.
The sixth edition of the ACC Women’s T20 Asia Cup is being hosted by the United Arab Emirates from 28th August to 13th September 2026. In a memorable setting for Mostary, Bangladesh were inserted to bat first by Indonesia skipper Ni Putu Ayu Nanda Sakarini. Coming in at number three, Mostary played a composed innings of 40 from 42 balls, striking two boundaries and one six.
Her knock formed an important part of Bangladesh’s effort as they posted 129/8 in their allotted 20 overs. Although she did not convert her start into a half-century, Mostary’s innings provided stability during a disciplined team performance. Bangladesh then completed the contest with authority, defeating the tournament debutants by 71 runs.
Sobhana Mostary’s 100-match international journey began with her ODI debut against South Africa at Bloemfontein on 14th May 2018. Since then, she has represented Bangladesh in 33 matches in the format, batting in 29 innings and scoring 556 runs at an average of 26.47 and a strike rate of 68.81. Her ODI record includes three half-centuries, reflecting her ability to anchor an innings and build valuable partnerships.
She made her T20I debut on 23rd August 2019 against the Netherlands at Utrecht. In 67 T20I matches, Mostary has scored 1,099 runs in 61 innings at a strike rate of 96.57 and an average of 19.98. Her record in the shortest format also includes a half-century, underlining her value as a versatile top-order batter capable of adapting to different match situations.
Her most impactful T20I performance came on 28th January 2026 against Thailand at Mulpani in the Women’s T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier. Batting at number four, she produced a spectacular 59 from 42 balls, an innings featuring nine boundaries and a maximum. Bangladesh posted 165/8 and went on to win by 39 runs, while Mostary was named Player of the Match.
