Flora Devonshire is one of the young players coming up in New Zealand women’s cricket. She is a left-handed batter and left-arm spinner who has impressed many people with her performances in domestic cricket. Even though she is still new in international cricket, she is seen as a player who can become very important for New Zealand in the future.
Born in Hastings, Hawke’s Bay, Devonshire started playing cricket at a young age and worked hard to reach the international level. She plays domestic cricket for Central Districts Women and has slowly made her place as a useful all-rounder. Her ability to help with both bat and ball makes her an important player for the team.
Devonshire was also part of New Zealand’s Under-19 and development squads, where she got the chance to play against strong teams and improve her game. Her good performances in domestic cricket and New Zealand A matches finally helped her get her first international call-up in 2025.
Flora Devonshire T20I Career
Devonshire made her WT20I debut for New Zealand against Sri Lanka in March 2025. Since then, she has slowly started becoming a part of the White Ferns squad. In her early WT20I matches, she bowled well and also looked comfortable while fielding.
So far, Devonshire has played 3 WT20I matches and taken 2 wickets. Her best bowling figures are 1/12, while her economy rate is 6.20. Even though she is still at the start of her international career, she has already shown that she can bowl well in pressure moments.
She has not got many chances with the bat in WT20Is yet, but her domestic T20 numbers show her talent. In New Zealand domestic T20 cricket, Devonshire has scored 281 runs in 39 matches, with the highest score of 39. She has also taken 18 wickets in the format, showing that she can help the team in more than one way.
Domestic Cricket and Recent Form
Devonshire has continued doing well in domestic cricket for Central Districts Women. In List A cricket, she has scored 455 runs and taken 28 wickets, including a five-wicket haul. Her steady performances have helped her stay in New Zealand’s plans for future tournaments.
Recently, she also played well for New Zealand Women against ECB Women XI, where she scored an unbeaten 30 and picked up 1 wicket. These performances showed that she can play useful innings and handle pressure well.
