Zimbabwe women are set to embark on a historic first-ever bilateral tour of Pakistan, with a six-match white-ball series scheduled in Karachi in May 2026. The tour will feature three ODIs followed by three T20Is, all to be played at the National Bank Stadium.
The ODI series will begin on May 3, with subsequent matches on May 6 and May 9. These fixtures form part of the ICC Women’s Championship 2025–29, adding significant weight to the contest as teams compete for qualification pathways to major global tournaments. For Pakistan, currently placed eighth in the Women’s Championship standings, the series presents an important opportunity to climb the table and build consistency after mixed recent results. Having suffered a 2-1 ODI series defeat to South Africa, the hosts will be keen to return to winning ways, especially in familiar home conditions.
Beyond the immediate Championship context, the series also holds strategic importance for Pakistan’s broader calendar. It serves as a key preparatory assignment ahead of an upcoming tri-series involving the West Indies and Ireland, followed by the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in England. Zimbabwe, meanwhile, enter the tour ranked 14th and will view the series as a chance to test themselves against higher-ranked opposition. Their recent outing against New Zealand ended in defeat, but exposure to different conditions and competitive environments remains crucial for their development. Playing all matches at a single venue could help them settle quickly and adapt as the series progresses.
The tour is also significant from a developmental perspective.
