The ceremony took place in Western Australia, where the pair celebrated the occasion alongside close friends and members of the cricketing community. The location offered a relaxed and intimate backdrop for the wedding, away from the spotlight of international cricket. Among those involved in the celebrations were Nat Sciver-Brunt and Katherine Brunt, who were the bridesmaids, reflecting the strong bonds Jones shares with her England teammates.

The announcement was met with an outpouring of support across the sport, with several international cricketers sharing congratulatory messages. England’s Kate Cross, Sri Lanka captain Chamari Athapaththu, along with Sophie Ecclestone, Alice Capsey and Maia Boucher were among those to respond publicly, reflecting the strong support for the couple within the global cricketing fraternity. Messages flooded in from current and former players, franchises and fans, highlighting the widespread goodwill towards both Jones and Cleary.

Jones, a senior figure in England’s lineup, has been a consistent performer since making her international debut in 2013. Over the years, she has developed into one of the most reliable wicketkeeper-batters in the women’s game. She has played more than 100 ODIs, scoring 2,659 runs at an average of 32.82, including multiple centuries and half-centuries. Behind the stumps, she has been equally dependable, contributing numerous dismissals and providing stability to England’s fielding unit. In T20 internationals, Jones has featured in over 120 matches, accumulating more than 1,600 runs and continuing to play a key role in England’s white-ball setup with her experience and composure.

Cleary, meanwhile, has built her career within Australia’s domestic system as a right-arm seamer. Representing Western Australia and Perth Scorchers in the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL), she has gained recognition for her disciplined bowling and ability to execute plans under pressure. While she is yet to break into the Australian national side, her performances in domestic cricket have marked her as a consistent and valuable contributor within the system.

The couple first met while playing together for Perth Scorchers in the WBBL, where their connection began within the professional environment of franchise cricket. What started as a shared experience on the field soon developed into a relationship, with the pair navigating the challenges of long-distance commitments due to their respective cricketing schedules in England and Australia.

They announced their engagement in 2024, a moment that was widely celebrated within the sport and drew support from across the international cricket community. Since then, their relationship has remained a visible and positive presence within the game.

Their wedding now marks the next chapter in that journey, bringing together their shared experiences in cricket and their lives beyond the game. With messages continuing to pour in from across the cricketing world and prominent figures involved in the celebrations, the occasion highlighted the close-knit and supportive nature of the sport, as Jones and Cleary’s union was warmly embraced by teammates, opponents and fans alike.
