The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the nominees for the ICC Women’s Player of the Month award for March 2026, with a star-studded trio featuring Amelia Kerr, Beth Mooney and Ayabonga Khaka. The shortlist reflects a month dominated by all-round brilliance, consistent run-scoring and impactful bowling performances across formats, with each of the three players playing a decisive role in their respective teams’ success.

Amelia Kerr
New Zealand captain Amelia Kerr headlines the nominees after an extraordinary run with both bat and ball. Across four ODIs, she scored 176 runs at a strike rate of 78.57 while claiming a remarkable 18 wickets at an average of just 6.77, including a stunning 7/34 against Zimbabwe — the best bowling figures by a New Zealand woman in ODIs.
Her dominance extended into the T20I format, where she amassed 276 runs at a strike rate of 158.62 and picked up six wickets in six matches. Kerr’s consistency was equally impressive, registering 11 consecutive scores of 30 or more in T20Is during this period. Her all-round contributions earned her Player of the Series honours in both the ODI and T20I series wins against Zimbabwe and South Africa, further strengthening her case for a third ICC monthly award.
Beth Mooney
Australia’s Beth Mooney, already one of the most consistent performers in world cricket, also enjoyed a prolific month across formats. She began with a commanding unbeaten 106 off 84 balls against India in Hobart, helping Australia secure a dominant ODI series sweep. Mooney carried that momentum into the Caribbean tour, where she scored 107 runs in three T20Is at a strike rate of 128.91, including a match-winning 79 in the opening game against the West Indies. She capped off the month with another crucial contribution of 65 in an ODI against the West Indies, underlining her reliability at the top of the order and her ability to anchor innings in different conditions.
Ayabonga Khaka
Rounding out the nominees is South Africa seamer Khaka, whose performances with the ball proved vital during her side’s tour of New Zealand. She finished as the leading wicket-taker in the T20I series for SA, claiming eight wickets in four matches at an average of 15.37, with best figures of 4/27. Khaka’s impact extended into the ODI format, where she produced a career-best spell of 6/56 in Christchurch, playing a key role in South Africa’s victory. Her ability to deliver breakthroughs consistently and lead the bowling attack across formats has placed her firmly in contention for the award.
The March nominations follow February’s award, which was claimed by India’s Arundhati Reddy after her standout bowling performances in Australia. The ICC Player of the Month awards continue to recognise the top performers in international cricket, with nominees selected based on their performances throughout the calendar month.
Voting for the award will be decided through a combination of fan votes and the ICC Voting Academy. With all three nominees delivering match-defining performances in March, the race for the award shall remain closely contested.
