Cricket South Africa (CSA) has dropped a seismic announcement for the 2026/27 home season, headlined by a rare full bilateral series against Australia, featuring a three-match T20I series, followed by a three-match ODI series and a one-off Test match in April.

This marquee clash, South Africa’s first-ever complete series against Australia, ramps up the rivalry just months after the Proteas Women host India for three ODIs and a one-off Test in December 2026. With skipper Sophie Molineux leading an Australian side (currently in the West Indies for a white-ball tour including 3 ODIs and as many T20Is from March 20 to April 2, 2026), fans can expect high-octane drama across iconic venues starting in March 2027.
The tour ignites with a three-match T20I series, kicking off on March 18 at Kimberley Oval in Kimberley. The action shifts to Willowmoore Park in Benoni for the second T20I, then heads to Buffalo Park (KuGompo City Cricket Stadium) in East London for the decider. These games set the tone for a format where Australia’s explosive batting, spearheaded by Molineux’s tactical nous, will test South Africa’s rising stars like Laura Wolvaardt, Nadine de Klerk and others in the Proteas set-up.
Transitioning seamlessly into the 50-over format, the ODI series launches on March 27 at St George’s Park in Gqeberha. The sides then trek to Boland Park in Paarl for the second clash on March 31, before culminating on April 3 at Kingsmead in Durban, a designated Black Day ODI. This poignant fixture underscores South Africa’s unwavering commitment to combating gender-based violence, blending cricketing intensity with powerful advocacy.
The tour’s crown jewel arrives from April 8 to 11 at JB Marks Oval in Potchefstroom: just the second women’s Test between these giants. Their debut red-ball battle in Perth (February 2024) saw Australia crush South Africa by an innings and 284 runs, a humbling scoreline that still fuels the Proteas fire. This rematch offers redemption and a chance to build on the format’s growing legacy in women’s cricket.
