Female Cricket Launches New Ground-breaking Initiative “Female Cricket Fund” for Aspiring Indian Women and Girls.

In a landmark moment, the world’s first-ever platform exclusively dedicated to women’s cricket, Female Cricket celebrated its 10-year anniversary on 6th February 2026. With an intent to give back to the community and the female cricket ecosystem for a decade-long continuous support, the organisation announced the “Female Cricket Fund” initiative on 8th March 2026 on the occasion of International Women’s Day, to celebrate the landmark year.

This pioneering fund targets aspiring Indian women and girls aged 10-20, offering tailored financial aid, equipment, coaching, and mentorship to bridge critical gaps and fuel their dreams.

Female Cricket was launched in February 2016 by Founder and CEO, Mr. Vishal Yadav, a platform to spread, share, and celebrate the journey of female cricketers across the globe. Over the past 10 years, the organisation has continued to deliver and fulfil the vision to make Female Cricket a one-stop solution for all the needs of female cricketers, right from standard equipment, coaching, cricket matches, and sponsorships to the deserving candidates.

The organisation has forged ground-breaking collaborations and tournaments over the years. The exponential rise of the Women in Blue in International Cricket, especially in the last 5-6 years, amplified by the blockbuster success of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) have changed the negative narratives regarding women’s cricket, particularly in India. The fearless brand and the quality of cricket played by the girls have made the world take notice of the talent and potential on display.

“We come across so many aspiring female cricketers who reach out to us and share the lack of support they receive from their systems and society, which often forces them to step away from the game. Over the last 10 years of working in women’s cricket, this has been one of the most common challenges I have seen talented girls face. The Female Cricket Fund has been launched to help address this gap and support these aspiring players with the funds and resources they need to continue their cricketing journey.” Vishal Yadav, Founder & CEO, Female Cricket, sheds light on the persistent challenges and the purpose that inspired the initiative.

The “Female Cricket Fund” blends perfectly with the vision and the mission of the organisation to enable as many women and girls in India to pick up the bat and ball and dream big, and inspire them to take cricket as a serious profession.

The initiative aims at:

Supporting promising young players with a cricket scholarship and funds.
Help bridge the gap in access to training facilities, equipment, and coaching assistance.
Create a stronger support system for girls who want to keep playing.

The initiative could go a long way in ensuring that a promising journey never ends because of a lack of support. Because sometimes, the right support at the right time can change the world for the young girl dreaming of making it big out there.

A registration form has been rolled out on 8th March 2026 for the aspiring Indian talent, ranging from the tender age of 10 to 20 years, as one of the key parameters of enrolment for the interested candidates.

10 girls will be shortlisted in the inaugural batch of the Female Cricket Fund. Requirements of selected candidates will be assessed upon interaction with the candidate. Applications went live on 8th March 2026 and will close on 31st March 2026.

Parents and guardians can apply on behalf of their daughters.

What will the selected 10 girls receive?

Support is tailored, no fixed amounts or one-size-fits-all methodology.

Equipment Support: Connections to brands sponsoring female cricketers across India.
Coaching Connections: Links to experienced coaches suited to their game.
Mentorship Sessions: Online access to seasoned voices in women’s cricket for growth.

Who Can Apply? (Eligibility Criteria)

Age: 10-20 years old.

Nationality: Indian citizens only, pan-India welcome.

Currently Playing: At the school, club, district, or state level.

Passion & Commitment: Serious about the game; girls who recently paused can apply if they explain the reason for the pause and show commitment to return to action.
