The milestone arrived in the second ODI of the ongoing white-ball series against Zimbabwe, from February 25 to March 11, 2026, where Kerr’s unbeaten 45 (40 balls) as opener sealed a clinical 8-wicket victory in a chase of just 103, finishing the job in the 17th over alongside wicket-keeper batter Isabella Gaze. Entering the match 45 runs shy, Kerr’s composed knock not only ticked off the landmark but earned her Player of the Match honours for breathtaking all-round heroics, including a career-best 7/34 (9.1-1-34) that made her the first White Fern bowler to claim a seven-wicket haul in ODIs.

New Zealand dominated the series from the outset, whitewashing the three-match T20I leg 3-0 with emphatic wins, 92 runs in the opener, 110 runs in the second, and a 10-wicket rout in the third, before racing to a 2-0 ODI lead with a game remaining, following a 180-run thrashing in the first ODI. Amelia Kerr’s leadership has been the heartbeat of this romp, blending tactical nous with match-winning contributions across both white-ball formats so far.

Kerr’s international journey began with an ODI debut against Pakistan at Lincoln on November 9, 2016, and a T20I bow just 12 days later at Nelson on November 21. In ODIs, she has amassed 2,364 runs in 73 innings across 86 matches at an average of 40.75 and a strike rate of 82.28, featuring 10 half-centuries and 4 centuries. Her pinnacle remains the world-record 232* (145 balls), including 31 boundaries and 2 maximums against Ireland in Dublin on June 13, 2018, opening alongside Amy Satterthwaite in a 440/3 onslaught that sparked a 305-run annihilation. That series earned her Player of the Series with 342 runs and 8 wickets.

In T20Is, Kerr’s flair shines brighter: 1,636 runs in 72 innings over 91 matches at an impressive strike rate of 114.64 and an average of 30.86, including 6 half-centuries and a century. Her format-best came right in this series, during the 1st T20I on February 25 at Seddon Park, Hamilton, where her unbeaten 101* (51 balls) with 19 boundaries propelled New Zealand to 202/1 en route to a 92-run win, clinching Player of the Match for all-round brilliance at No. 3.

At 25, Kerr isn’t just a milestone marker; she’s a generational force, redefining all-round excellence for New Zealand women. With bat, ball, and now full-time on her shoulders, expect more records to tumble in the near future.
