Delhi Women Beat Railways by 7 Wickets to Win Senior Women’s One-Day Trophy 2025-26 Final

The 2025-26 Senior Women’s One Day Trophy Elite final at the IS Bindra Cricket Stadium in Mohali will be remembered as the day Delhi Women finally toppled the giants of the domestic circuit. Entering the match against a Railways side that has historically owned this competition, Delhi produced a clinical performance to secure a dominant 7-wicket victory. By bowling out the defending champions for a low total and chasing it down with over 21 overs to spare, Delhi proved they were the undisputed best team of the tournament.

The foundation of this historic win was laid by a relentless Delhi bowling attack that never allowed the Railways batters to find their rhythm. Railways, usually known for their batting depth, struggled from the outset and were eventually bundled out for just 133 runs in 44.2 overs. The scoring was stagnant throughout the innings, with Railways managing a run rate of only 3.0 per over as Delhi’s bowlers hit their marks with pinpoint accuracy.

Among the standout performers with the ball, Nazma Khan was instrumental in breaking the back of the Railways’ resistance, finishing with crucial figures of 2/28 alongside Disha Nagar with figures of 2/18 and Parunika Sisodia picking up 3 wickets but giving just 25 runs. Their ability to take wickets at key moments ensured that no significant partnerships could develop. While Hemalatha tried to anchor the innings for Railways—finishing the match as a top contributor for her side with a gritty effort scoring 64 runs off 105 deliveries—she found very little support from the other end as the Delhi attack kept the pressure high throughout the 44 overs.

Chasing a modest target of 134, Delhi’s openers came out with intent, effectively ending the contest before it truly began. They raced to 74/0 within the first 14 overs, scoring at a brisk rate that left the Railways’ bowlers with no room for error. Priya Punia was the star of the chase, playing a composed and stylish innings of 76 runs and was also supported by Pragya Rawat who on the other end scored a brilliant 46 off 56 deliveries that anchored the top order and ensured Delhi stayed well ahead of the required rate from the very first ball.

Despite the low total, Railways’ veteran leg-spinner Poonam Yadav showed her class by picking up 2 wickets for 29 runs, but it wasn’t enough to trigger a collapse. Delhi remained calm and reached the target of 134/3 in just 28.3 overs. Scoring at 4.7 runs per over, they cruised to the finish line to spark massive celebrations, officially ending the match with 129 balls remaining and cementing their place as the new champions of the Elite division.
