Royal Challengers Bengaluru delivered a night to remember as they clinched their second Women’s Premier League (WPL) title with a hard fought six wicket win over Delhi Capitals, holding their nerve in a Final that tested both skill and patience. With a packed stadium roaring them on, RCB rose to the occasion and added another glory to their journey.

Delhi Capitals, appearing in their fourth consecutive WPL final, showed their batting depth by posting a formidable 203/4 after being put into bat. Jemimah Rodrigues led from the front with a composed captain’s knock, while Chinelle Henry’s ensured RCB were chasing a total that demanded something special in return.
That response came through a calm and calculated chase. At the top, Georgia Voll and Smriti Mandhana absorbed the early pressure and set the platform. Voll later revealed that the plan was to “take the game as deep as possible,” trusting the pitch and the finishing strength in the line-up.
Although she couldn’t finish the chase alongside Mandhana, her contribution proved crucial. She added “To perform like that in the Final was really special. I hadn’t felt like I was striking the ball cleanly for much of the season, so to deliver when it mattered most meant a lot.”
Mandhana once again led by example, pacing the innings with assurance and keeping the chase under control. The middle order followed suit, ensuring there were no panic moments despite the mounting tension. When the winning runs were finally scored, the relief and joy were written all over the RCB camp.
Lauren Bell captured the emotion of the moment, saying she had “never been part of a game that close,” and praised Georgia and Smriti pair and the fans who backed the team relentlessly. She added that the atmosphere throughout the tournament had been special, and ending the season with a title made the entire journey even more memorable.
She expressed her gratitude by saying “I’ve absolutely loved my time here. The whole month has been fantastic, from the group to the coaching staff. Finishing the season with a win makes it even more special, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.”
Radha Yadav highlighted the behind-the-scenes work, crediting the management for their constant support and focus on situational practice. “This win belongs to them as much as it does to the players.” This win belongs to everyone, she said, underlining the collective effort that defined RCB’s campaign.
For Shreyanka Patil, the title held extra meaning in what she described as a special comeback season. She spoke about the belief within the group, noting that “Every player in this team felt like a leader. In every game, someone different stepped up, and that shows how strong the team effort has been,” and dedicated the win to Mandhana, calling it thoroughly deserved.
In the end, RCB’s triumph was not just about one Final, but about a season built on trust, preparation, and unity coming together perfectly when it mattered most. Delhi Capitals gave it absolutely everything and played with heart, skill, and intent right till the end. Even though the trophy is still out of reach, their unmatched consistency and ability to reach the Final every single season has created a legacy that deserves nothing but admiration.
