Ahead of the 2026 season of The Hundred, the 24-year-old all-rounder, Charlie Dean, has signed for London Spirit. London Spirit will be keen to rediscover themselves as serious title contenders after a couple of mixed seasons in the tournament, and the retention of Dean adds quality and depth to both their batting and bowling unit. Spirit will be hoping to find the right combinations ahead of this season, and their task will be to formulate a squad by blending new talent with the experienced international players.

Dean has been one of the best all-rounders in The Hundred and she captained London Spirit in the 2025 season and was also a part of the title-winning squad in 2024. She has scored 173 runs from 24 innings, and she has also picked up 25 wickets in her career in the Hundred so far. She is a handy off-spinner as she can deceive the batters with the flight of the ball and could prove to be a true wicket-taking option in the middle overs. She is also quite decent with the bat as she can provide support from one end and hold the innings at one end.
In her T20I career, Dean has scored 148 runs from 16 innings, and she has also picked up 58 wickets from 44 innings at an economy of 6.92. She has been a consistent performer in England’s national side with her all-round ability to contribute in both phases of the innings but predominantly in the bowling department as she can pick wickets without giving away too many runs. She also has plenty of experience to work with as she has been representing the national side since 2022 and she has also participated in many marquee tournaments across the world.
Charlie Dean has also featured in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) in 2025 for Royal Challengers Bengaluru as she was called as a late injury replacement for the Australian all-rounder Sophie Molineux. She played just the solitary match against the UP Warriorz in which she dismissed Sophie Ecclestone but ended up going for a plenty of runs in her quota of 4 overs. She also scored a quick 9 off 4 balls, when she was sent into bat late in the game. She is yet to feature in the Women’s Big Bash League and other global franchise cricket leagues.
Dean has been an invaluable asset for the London Spirit. As a seasoned player for the team since 2021, she brings consistency with both bat and ball. Her ability to take key wickets and contribute crucial runs towards the death makes her an exciting all-round asset. She also has prior experience captaining the side and provides crucial leadership on the field. She is a reliable and impactful player essential for the Spirit’s success in The Hundred.
