In a touching celebration of grit and triumph, Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Shri Pawan Kalyan felicitated the Indian Women’s Blind Cricket Team in Vijayawada, personally donating ₹5,00,000 to each player through his charitable organisation, the Common Man Protection Force (CMPF).

This generous gesture honours their historic victory as inaugural champions of the Women’s T20 World Cup for the Blind, where skipper Deepika TC led India to a commanding 7-wicket win over Nepal, captained by Binita Pun, in the final on November 23, 2025, at Colombo’s P Sara Oval.
The tournament, marking a groundbreaking moment for inclusive cricket, unfolded from November 11 to 23, 2025, with India hosting most matches and the finale being played in Sri Lanka. Deepika TC’s leadership shone through as India chased down Nepal’s target with composure, etching their names in history amid growing global recognition for women’s blind cricket.
Players from across India, including four from Odisha who each received ₹11 lakh from their state government, have been celebrated widely, underscoring the sport’s rising inspirational power.
Shri Pawan Kalyan’s initiative stands out for its personal touch, reflecting his commitment to supporting unsung heroes. The CMPF’s contribution not only rewards their on-field excellence but also boosts morale for future endeavours in adaptive sports.
As other states and organisations join the acclaim, this moment highlights cricket’s unique ability to unite and uplift, proving that barriers like sight fade before true determination.
