Smriti Mandhana Skips KBC Shoot After Father’s Health Scare Forced Wedding Postponement

Smriti Mandhana, Indian cricketer, postponed her long anticipated wedding with music composer and director Palaash Muchhal after a health scare hit her family just hours before the ceremony. The joyous celebration, planned for November 23 in Sangli, took a grim turn as Mandhana’s father, Srinivas Mandhana, complained of symptoms related to a heart attack and was admitted to an area hospital for emergency treatment.

Attending physicians reported that he had chest pain due to angina pectoris and was treated in an intensive care unit for further tests and treatment. The immediate focus of attention for the family shifted from festive preparations to his recovery.

The surprise twist did not end there. Palaash Muchhal also fell sick within hours of the crisis. According to close sources to the family, he developed a viral infection and increased acidity, which forced his own hospitalization. Medical staff confirmed that his condition was not serious, and after brief care, he was discharged and went back to Mumbai, where he continues with his recovery and rest.

The family members, including Palaash’s mother, maintained that wedding celebrations would remain on hold until both families are able to get together again in the aftermath of these medical emergencies.

The abrupt postponement brought attention from the cricketing fraternity to fans alike, since Smriti Mandhana is a loved public figure not only as a vice captain in India’s World Cup winning women’s team but also for her on field success. Smriti has also removed all posts related to her engagement and marriage from her social media accounts. A decision by Mandhana underlined the commitment toward family and responsibility.

Palak Muchhal, Palaash’s sister, publicly addressed the postponement of her brother’s wedding to Smriti Mandhana by posting a message on her Instagram. She wrote, “Due to Smriti’s dad’s health, Smriti and Palash’s wedding has been put on hold. We would request all of you to respect the privacy of the families during this sensitive time.”

Palak’s statement urged friends, fans, and the media to allow both families the space and calm they need while they focus on recovery and well-being, underlining the emotional impact of these events on everyone involved.

The effects of these events did not stay confined to her personal life. Smriti Mandhana also withdrew from the Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) shoot appearance that featured the World Cup winning Indian women’s team, believed to be on grounds of personal reasons coupled with her family’s health crisis.

With both families presently concentrating on recovery and Mandhana’s father now discharged and recovering at home, friends and fans await more positive news. For the time being, cricket enthusiasts and the sports fraternity have united in support of Smriti Mandhana, conveying wishes of strength during these trying times.
