The Indian women’s cricket team has had a lot to celebrate lately, and one big reason is Smriti Mandhana’s upcoming wedding. The star opener is reportedly set to marry musician Palash Muchhal on November 20.

A wedding invitation had gone viral on social media, though many fans felt it looked photoshopped. But the excitement around her big day is real, and the team is already looking forward to celebrating together, as skipper Harmanpreet Kaur confirms.
In an exclusive interview with PTI, captain Kaur spoke warmly about the closeness within the team. She said, “Everyone loves to enjoy each other’s company in the team, and whenever we bid goodbye to each other as the tournament ends, we think about the next time when we will meet and enjoy each other’s company.”
She also added, “Smriti (Mandhana) is getting married now. Hopefully, we all get together and have a lot of fun there.”
This strong team bond also played a big role in India’s incredible run at the ICC Women’s World Cup. India senior women’s team created history by lifting their first-ever senior ICC trophy, defeating South Africa by 52 runs in a memorable final.
It was a proud moment for the entire country and a huge achievement for the team after years of hard work and heartbreak.
The journey to the trophy was not easy. India faced three consecutive losses early in the tournament, which put them under pressure. But they bounced back beautifully. A dominant win against New Zealand changed their momentum completely.
Then came the stunning semifinal victory over Australia, a match that shifted belief within the team and among fans. Finally, they defeated Laura Wolvaardt’s South Africa in the final to make November 2 a night that will be remembered for ages.
What made this victory even more special was the unity within the team. They celebrated each other’s success, lifted each other during tough moments, and stayed connected throughout the tournament. Harmanpreet has often said that the players not only support each other but also pray for one another.
This simple, honest friendship has become one of India’s biggest strengths, both on the field and in moments like Smriti Mandhana’s wedding, where the celebrations will once again bring them together.
