Central Hinds record highest partnership in New Zealand one-day women’s cricket

Currently, New Zealand’s one-day women’s cricket is being held, in which recently Central Hinds duo Jess Watkin and Natalie Dodd smashed a recording opening partnership before the clash against Wellington was washed out.

After winning the toss Central Hinds decided to bat first at Karori Park, Watkin and Dodd stiched a humongous partnership of 216 runs for the first wicket and the side put up a target of 260-3 in 40 overs. Watkin has been left out of White ferns contract this year, she hinted her strength after this innings as she hit 158 runs off 124 balls on the other side Dodd scored 75 off 100 deliveries with three boundaries.

The partnership surpassed the previous record of 199 set by Elizabeth Scurr and Paula Flannery for Otago in 2004-05. Due to poor weather conditions, Wellington just was on the field for 3 over and the match was, unfortunately, called-off due to continuous showers, hence a no result game.
