This delightful interaction took place during the team’s visit to the Prime Minister’s residence, where the victorious Indian women’s cricket team was celebrated for their groundbreaking triumph at the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025.

The occasion, filled with exuberance and national pride, marked a significant milestone for women’s cricket in India, and Harleen’s humorous question added a touch of warmth and relatability to the celebration. As footage of the exchange spread across social media, it resonated with fans and citizens alike, showcasing the lighter side of sports and leadership.

During their meeting, Harleen complimented the Prime Minister on his glowing complexion, saying, “Sir, I wanted to know your skin care routine. You glow a lot, sir.” Her warm smile brought laughter into the room, and even Prime Minister Modi joined in the good humour.

Responding with his usual humility and wit, Modi said, “I don’t really think about those things.” All-rounder Sneh Rana remarked that the love of the country’s citizens inspires him, and Modi acknowledged that this support is a major source of strength, noting that even after many years in government, the blessings of the people continue to have a profound effect.

This playful question came during a celebration of the Indian women’s cricket team’s incredible success. Captained by Harmanpreet Kaur, the team defeated South Africa by 52 runs in the final to secure their first World Cup title.

Kaur reminisced about their previous visit in 2017, when they met the Prime Minister without the trophy. “At that time, we did not come with a trophy… we have been working so hard for so many years, we have brought the trophy here,” she remarked.

Harleen’s lighthearted question added a refreshing touch to the formal meeting. The team’s coach, Amol Muzumdar, added to the jovial atmosphere by joking about the personalities he works with, which drew more smiles in the room.

He also inquired about Deepti Sharma’s Hanuman tattoo, which has gained attention on social media. Sharma explained that it symbolizes her deep faith in Hanuman, which she relies on to overcome challenges and difficult situations.

She said, “Sir, it means that I have more belief in him than even in myself. Whenever such a time comes, when difficulties arise, I take his name, and I feel that I come out of those difficulties. That’s how much belief I have in him.”

The triumph of the Indian women’s team was complemented by a memorable moment of humour, leaving fans with smiles all around.
